Mindfully make your own hand-carved pieces, learning the age-old arts of traditional greenwood carving, using a range of common hand-tools.

This introduction to greenwood working covers the making of a variety of ‘trine’ – small handmade wooden objects used in the home. Options include a butter knife, needle pot, wooden flowers, pegs, mushrooms, spatulas or spurtles. Experienced woodworkers and heritage craft specialists Julie Durkacz & Em Elliot-Walker of Caorann will guide you through the process, using locally sourced materials and hand-tools. A great course for building your confidence in the use of hand tools which you can easily buy and use yourself. Throughout the day you will complete 2-3 small pieces and learn skills which can be applied to a variety of other simple objects, and how to harvest or source the materials you will need.
