Adult Courses


Tuesdays OR Thursday Evenings, 8 weeks | 18:00 – 21:00 | £300

Working with experienced carpenters and builders, participants will gain confidence in the use of workshop machinery and tools to create their own specific project. Come with a project in mind and get advice on creating a plan for making, ordering materials (cost of materials not included in course fee), and guidance when needed to complete the project within the course.


Saturday Mornings, 4 weeks | 10:00 – 2:00 | £150

Learn to make curtains, cushion covers, and mattress covers for your campervan, patio, studio – any small space you can imagine using only a few simple sewing techniques. Some basic sewing machine experience would be an advantage, but beginners are very welcome! The course will cover machine use, designing a pattern, measuring up, choosing the right fabric (light/washability/pattern/stretch, etc.). Participants can bring their own sewing machine, or use one of EOW’s machines. Material is not included in the course fee, but there is a small stock available for purchase at EOW.


Wednesday Evenings 4 weeks | 18:00 – 20:00 | £200

The course is designed to give the beginner a good grounding in welding theory and practice, typical welding joints and application. Lots of practical training using the MIG welding process, with overview of alternative systems such as TIG, Stick (arc) welding and Gas welding. The course takes you through various welding techniques, from preparation, though cutting, angle grinder use, safety to giving you the basic skills to be flexible and competent in building welded structures, whether artistic and decorative or repair based projects.

Family Friendly Workshops


Saturday Mornings, 2 weekends | 10:00 – 12:00 | £100 (for first parent/child, £25 per additional family member)

This family course will help you discover and develop your basic woodworking skills by building a ukulele from a simple wood kit. Sand, glue, assemble, and personalize your one-of-a-kind instrument and learn a few basic chords along the way. No prior music or woodworking experience required. Leave the class with a uke in your hands, a song in your heart, and a smile on your face!

This workshop is open to adult/child teams (12 and up).
