Join experienced woodworkers Julie Durkacz & Em Elliot-Walker of Caorann on this one day Slab & Stick Stool making course. Get hands-on with locally sourced wood, turning these raw materials into a sturdy Slab & Stick stool. Learn to use a range of traditional hand tools and techniques to complete the project, including the carving knife, draw knife, bench plane, saw, tenon cutter, auger, brace and bit. You will learn how to form a round wedge tenon, make splayed legs and dress and shape a seat.
A great course for building confidence in the use of hand tools which you can easily buy and use yourself. Through this one day class you will complete a finished stool, and learn skills which can be applied to a variety of other simple objects. Tutors Julie & Em are on hand to impart their knowledge, for starting future projects, how to harvest and source the materials you will need.
