Home to furniture makers, set builders, bike fabricators, screen printers, blade-smiths, metalworkers, prop makers, upholsterers and more – EOW is a makerspace open to makers of every type, at every level – so come see what we are all about!
The entire family can give woodworking, welding, screen-printing, or sewing a try with one of our Bookable Workshops below, or rock up on the day and try one of our Drop-In builds.
With all the tools, materials, and teaching included, these workshops are perfect for anyone who is keen to a try skill.

For family participants, one space booking can be used for solo working for those 13+, OR a parent/guardian to work alongside any participants age 8 – 12.
No unaccompanied children under the age of 16 allowed in the workshop.

With all the tools, materials, and teaching included, this mini-workshop is perfect for anyone who is keen to give woodworking a try.

Come and try your hand at sewing with our resident textiles and prop-making master, Nicola. Learn the very beginning steps of sewing with marking up material, using a domestic sewing machine, and attaching handles or drawstring to a small bag. Leave with a small tote bag that you can then use upstairs in a ‘free-cycle’ fabric shop to fill with materials for your next sewing project!

Enjoy a hands-on woodworking taster session led by resident woodworker and upholsterer, Rebecca Subido. Create your own architecturally inspired candle holder while learning essential woodworking techniques. You’ll gain confidence using tools like a handsaw, pillar drill, and sander— the perfect start or next step to a woodworking journey.

Come and try your hand at welding with our very own metalworker Josh. Learn the very beginning steps of metal work including metal cutting and drilling, and welding text onto steel. Leave with a metal welded nameplate and some fantastic new skills.

DROP IN PROJECTS
For any keen future makers under 8, we have our tool-less Build a Birdhouse, Build a Dinosaur, or Balance Board Drop-In activities available on the same day, no advance booking required.
Join a drop-in activity anytime between 11:00 and 15:30.

Come and experience the workings of our CNC machine, which will engrave your name on to and cut out the template of a Balance Board. All you then need to do is assemble your piece and go live your balance board dreams.
