Induction

Use of the worshop is secured by completion of a general workshop and safety induction – this is free, takes about 1 hour 20 minutes, and can happen on your first PAYG booking.

All plans come with access to our staffed reception area for deliveries, and our dedicated member’s area, forum, and business directory.

*£20 deposit is required for access keycards.

EOW runs a discretionary hardship fund. If you cannot afford the concessionary rate at this time, please email hello@edinburghopenworkshop.co.uk to discuss options.

EOW Membership: must be 18+ to register for an account.

Additional Worker: must be 16+ to attend the workshop and under the direct supervision of an EOW Member who is their parent/guardian/carer. They can use hand tools, and assist with work but cannot be left as the sole worker, and do not have access to any machinery.

EOW Classes & Workshops: must be 18+ OR 14+ participating with a parent/guardian/carer. Secondary age restrictions may be dependent on course/workshop and or instructors requirements, these will be made clear in the course description.

Yeti-Tool CNC Smart Bench with V-Carve Pro

Please note – you must pass our days induction training and/or hardware assessment before gaining access to the CNC machine. The workshop staff will be there to support you until you reach a point at which you can operate the Yeti by yourself, usually within the first three sessions!

Paint and Finishing

The paint floor is accessed by 2 flights of stairs and is not wheelchair accessible. We can accommodate painting and finishing in the ground floor fabrication bays if required. Please call the office to arrange this: 0131 555 6866.

The hire of space on the paint floor is for one person. Another can join you for a small supplement. Please consider how you will work safely.

Need a hand? Order your materials for delivery before your session, book a Delivery and Store session, we’ll unload, and store them for your session. Book a Lift and Shift session to get your van emptied or loaded quickly and safely, or to help you manoeuvre a bigger build.
