Doors Open Day 2026
We’re excited to be taking part in Doors Open Day again this year, following a brilliant response to last year’s event. Come along and discover what happens inside Edinburgh Open Workshop. Explore our workshop spaces, meet the people who make here, see live demonstrations and find out how you can get involved.
Everyone is welcome and entry is free.
Explore EOW
Whether you’re interested in learning a new skill, making your own projects, becoming a member or simply want to see what goes on behind the workshop doors, Doors Open Day is a great opportunity to discover EOW.
Guided Tours
Take a guided tour around the workshop and discover our different making spaces, equipment and facilities. Find out how the workshop works and what you can do at EOW.
Live Demonstrations
See our members in action with live demonstrations happening across the workshop. Discover the tools, techniques and projects being made at EOW, and chat to the people who use our spaces.
Tinkertown in the Yard
Bring the kids along for Tinkertown, taking place in our yard. A hands-on building activity where young makers can get stuck in, experiment and create using scrap materials.

Edinburgh Street Stitchers
Head upstairs to the Event Space to see an exhibition from Edinburgh Street Stitchers showcasing mended and amended garments.
They will be running two activities on the day:
Garment repair: Bring along a garment you’d like to repair and learn techniques to help give it a new lease of life.
Fabric tag making: Create a luggage-label-sized tag from fabric scraps, with the option to add an appliqué letter.
