We’re looking for a full – time Workshop Supervisor to join our team! With community making becoming ever more popular, we are growing our membership body, learning programs and just plain growing – we are calling to add more skills, and more lovely people to our team, to be apart of this exciting journey.  Could this be you ?

If you are meeting us for the first time, Edinburgh Open Workshop (EOW) is an innovative, creative co-working space, offering membership-based access to a variety of workshop facilities, studios, machinery, tools, to both Pay-As-You-Go Members and long-term Resident Makers. As a not-for-profit social enterprise we believe in supporting artists/makers and creative business, which means ensuring that we keep our space, tools, learning accessible to all.

Being Edinburgh’s only open-access workshop, we support a community of over 300 hobbyist and professional makers, designers, and creatives; our Members range from hobbyists tinkering on small home projects to corporates designing and manufacturing for niche markets with everything in between. 

EOW has a small, close-knit, and dedicated team and we’re looking for someone friendly, smart and motivated to join us.

Workshop Supervisor


Location: Edinburgh, Leith
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £26,000
Closing Date: 30 April
Interviews: 15 May – 16 May

The Role:

Will support the operation of our growing, shared-access workshops. The ideal candidate will have a strong skill set in metal work and metal work tools and machinery, and a basic understanding of woodwork and woodworking tools and machinery. The post-holder will be interacting with people, and looking after machines, so candidates must have great people skills as well as technical know-how. 

You will be a point of contact for new members, conducting workshop tours, and answering initial enquiries. You will be available to our customers on the workshop floor, answering their technical queries, and assisting them to access machines safely by assessing their skills, and arranging teaching and additional support for them where needed.
