It’s time to Meet Your Maker…again!

It’s time to Meet Your Maker…again!

With the return of semi-normal life, we figured it was was also time to bring make our features on some of the talented makers that call EOW home! This week – we get to focus on one of the Original EOW resident members, Anna Nichols.
aln furniture is owned by Anna, who has an impressive 20 years’ experience as a designer/maker. Moving to Edinburgh in 2014. Anna specialises in fine furniture, wood turning & luxury wooden homeware gifts using locally sourced hardwoods. Her love for working with wood started when she was 17 years’ old at school when she made her first piece of furniture, a rocking chair.

Inspired by her own journey and falling in love with woodturning at 16 years’ old. Starting at school and in her Dad’s garage as a teenager, she believes that ‘learning something new and having fun at the same time’ is important for any new makers.

Anna offers both one to one wood turning taster sessions from her resident bay (learn more about booking a session with her here), Advanced Machine Inductions for EOW members, and Woodworking courses for anybody as part of the EOW creative learning strand.

Check out her upcoming course below, or send us an email to learn more about inductions!

This course is designed for beginners or those with a grip on the basics looking to improve their craft. Participants will learn basic furniture design, tool, and machine use, and traditional woodworking skills. At the end of the course, Anna is on hand to offer advice on your next project so that you can keep making even after the course has finished. All materials for the stool are included.
