EOW Laser Cutting Service – now ready for business!
After some months of learning, testing, and generally playing around with our new laser cutter, we are now ready to get started with EOW’s Laser Cutting Service (we were so close to an ELF acronym but there is no appropriate word for ‘cutting’ that begins with the letter ‘f’ – what a shame).
Our FB1500 30 Watt CO2 is capable of cutting through 10mm Acrylic, 9mm Plywoods, and a host of other materials and fabrics. Whilst we continue to explore what the machine is capable of, we are happy to provide favourable rates as we take on your laser cutting and engraving needs.
How do I get something cut?
- Create your vector file. Ensure anything you want cut is detailed in RED and anything you want engraved is detailed in GREEN.
- To prepare sending your file, be sure it is saved in one of the following formats: .ai, .dwg, .dxf or .pdf
- You can either request a quote HERE. OR email your file to hello@edinburghopenworkshop.
co.uk.
Let us know what material you need it cut out of – we may ask you provide any specialist material, including a small excess for testing final settings.
*Maximum material size is 1400mm x 800mm - We will then provide a quote and a turnaround time for your cutting. Once you have given us the go ahead, we will then send you an invoice (these can be paid online, or in the office on collection).
*Note, please give yourself some lead time for the return of your product. While we do our best to process orders quickly, we cannot guarantee an immediate cutting. - When your product is ready, we will send you a notice to collect.
Cutting rates start at £60 per hour (not including material).
- 10% student discount available, proof of student status may be required.
- EOW members can get a discretionary discounted rate depending on the job.
